Queer: Then & Now Exhibition

About this event

The LGBT+ Staff Network and the School of Design & Creative Arts proudly present Queer: Then & Now, an exhibition exploring evolving narratives within the LGBT+ community. Showcasing work created or lent by members of the Loughborough community, the exhibition will be open weekdays from 12pm–2pm, 10–28 February (no booking required).

  • Wednesday 12 February | Brockington Building, U020 Clare Barlow, curator of Queer British Art at Tate Britain, exploring LGBT+ histories in art and museums.
  • Wednesday 19 February | Design School, 017 Pip Doran (A.K.A Sister Sister)
  • Wednesday 26 February | Design School, 017 Sarah-Joy Ford, textile artist and researcher, exploring queer history through craft and archives.

In addition to the lectures, drop-in quilting workshops with student Mya Kelly will run every Wednesday from 12pm–2pm in Martin Hall, offering a creative, hands-on way to engage with queer storytelling and community.

Illustrated by Maya Patel, a Graphic Design student at Loughborough University, LU Arts have produced a Loughborough arts map and guide to showcase the arts and culture offering in Loughborough town.
