Equality Impact Assessment Clinic

About this event

The next EIA clinic will be hosted in the Rutland Building.RUT.0.12 or on Teams on the 29 January between 1pm-4pm.

An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) helps ensure that our policies, procedures, and practices are inclusive for staff, students, visitors, etc. It also enables us to provide an audit trail that we have met our legal obligations.

EIAs allow us to look for opportunities to promote equity that may have previously been missed or could be better used. They also address adverse impacts that can be removed or mitigated, where possible.

By carrying out EIAs, you are working in line with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) in the Equality Act 2010 in England, Scotland, and Wales. The Duty places the requirement on Public Authorities and institutions to take action to reduce inequities in their area.

EDI services have updated EIA guidance for members of the Loughborough University community to help you understand and act on your responsibilities and obligations.
