Through her work with the MECS programme, Aine Petrulaityte focuses on understanding user behaviour and ultimately improving the usability of electric cooking appliances. With experience as a product designer and UX researcher, she has created tools for idea generation, facilitated co-creation workshops, and promoted collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Her previous projects include exploring the space of gender-inclusive energy innovations in informal settlements in Kenya and South Africa and supporting energy companies in developing solutions for the bottom-of-the-pyramid communities. Holding a PhD in Sustainable Product-Service Systems, she has collaborated with global partners in Brazil, Mexico, India, and China, emphasising sustainable, locally adaptable solutions to meet both regional and international needs.
