I felt a strong sense of belonging from the moment I stepped on campus.

The amazing and vibrant campus and impressive teaching facilities created a welcoming atmosphere at the Open Day. Architectural Engineering was the ideal choice, combining architecture, engineering, and energy, all in one.

Loughborough's Open Day itself solidified my decision to study Architectural Engineering - the MEng programme was really appealing to me.

The course's comprehensive approach, especially in Building Energy, perfectly aligned with my interests. The programme effectively combines creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills. I particularly enjoyed the Integrated Design Module, which offered hands-on learning and valuable feedback.

The teaching quality at the University is exceptional.

All the lecturers and tutors are very supportive and knowledgeable and their doors are always open. The modern state-of-the-art facilities and online resources help to enhance the learning experience and ensure you are fully supported.

Loughborough's social life is so vibrant! It is easy to make friends and get involved in sports and events.

My advice is to immerse yourself fully - make friends on your course, make the most of the support offered by lecturers, begin your coursework early, and lastly, have fun! It is a challenging course but also incredibly rewarding.

Loughborough's placement support network was invaluable. My mentor helped me to secure a placement with Network Rail where I gained experience in various civil engineering roles.

I'm really glad I did a placement year because it helped me to decide the direction I want to take in my career after university.

I even won the Future Talent Placement Award at the University Careers Network's 2024 Placement and Internship Awards for my outstanding performance and contributions to the programme.

After graduation, I aim to secure a graduate role as an engineer and work towards chartership - this means becoming a Chartered Engineer. My Loughborough degree, including my placement year, will prove instrumental in achieving this ambition and help to provide a strong foundation and competitive edge when I begin my career.

The course is perfect for those with a passion for creativity and problem solving.

The course is ideal for those with a strong interest in building design with a solid foundation in STEM subjects. If you have a passion for creativity, problem-solving and a strong interest in building design, this programme is for you.

As a whole, I have found a balance between my studies and my non-academic activities through effective time management and good organisational skills. I really enjoy being part of various sports clubs, the church community and pursuing other hobbies such as running.

The reputation of Loughborough's School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering as a top university that is well-recognised in the built environment industry plays a key role in supporting my career ambitions and I'm excited to see where my future leads after graduation!
