On 4 November 2024, the Government announced that universities can increase tuition fees.

Maintenance loans also rise by inflation rate.

What's not changing?
Household income thresholds for maintenance loan awards not changing.
Maximum loan available with income of £25,000 or below. Minimum loan for households with income of around £62,000 or above.
Repayment terms and conditions are as before, only repay after earning above the threshold (currently £25,000). Unpaid amount written off after 40 years.
