Loughborough Rugby - Our Staff

After graduating from UWIC (Cardiff Met) Martin has worked in a number of different schools leading on their rugby programs. Alongside this, Martin has played and coached in the National League’s, most recently for with Hull RUFC where he has been for 7 years. Martin is a Level 4 coach and enjoys the challenge of developing both himself and others on and off the pitch.

Originally from Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham, Alex played at various clubs across the midlands, including Worcester Warriors before relocating to Nottingham. Once in the East Midlands, Alex secured the Head Coach position at Syston RFC, which he held for 5 years. Syston play in the Midlands Premier League (Level 5) and last season narrowly missed out on promotion to National 2.

Alongside his role at Syston, Alex also spent 4 seasons as an Assistant Coach at Nottingham Trent University. In addition to this, Alex was also Assistant Coach at Nottingham Rugby for the 2021 Championship Season.
