Stress Awareness Week at the Library: A Huge Success!
This year's Stress Awareness Week at the library was a fantastic success, bringing together students, staff, and wellbeing experts to raise awareness about stress and provide support for managing it. With a resource stand, a visit from our wellbeing advisers, and an interactive de-stress advice board, it turned out to be an invaluable opportunity for everyone to take a moment and focus on their wellbeing.
A Warm Welcome at the Resource Stand
The library's dedicated Stress Awareness Week resource stand was a central hub throughout the week, offering a wealth of information on managing stress. The stand was stocked with helpful books, leaflets, providing information on mindfulness and how to cope with stress. In addition, there were relaxation techniques and stress-reduction resources that students and staff could take home, helping to equip everyone with tools they could apply in their day-to-day lives.
Students and staff were encouraged to take a break, browse the resources, write and share their own de-stress tips. The space was designed to be welcoming, creating a safe environment where people could freely explore and learn more about stress and wellbeing.
A visit from the wellbeing advisers: origami cranes and conversation
This week, our wellbeing advisers hosted a Craft Corner in the library, inviting students and staff to take a break from their work and engage in a creative, stress-relieving activity—making origami cranes. The session was a wonderful opportunity to unwind, connect, and chat about stress and wellbeing in a relaxed, informal setting.
We hope that our resources and activities served as an important a reminder that wellbeing isn't just about big changes—it can also be found in simple, mindful moments. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and we look forward to hosting more supportive events in the future!
