DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS
University Road elevation of Sir David Davies Building.
The roof adjacent to the Mansard roof extension on the Sir David Davies building is to be refurbished. This work will provide a better student experience by repairing the water ingress problems experienced on the upper floor of the building above the cafe.
Loughborough University is working in partnership with the local roofing contractor NRA Roofing and Flooring Ltd (Ilkeston, Derbyshire).
The work will be carried out from an access scaffold erected around the building.
That section of University Road, outside the Sir David Davies building, will remain open in both directions. However, there may be some disturbance to the traffic flow in localised sections whilst the access scaffold is erected and dismantled at the start and end of the roofing project.
The operatives vehicles will have emergency hazard lights flashing whilst parked in the University Road, operatives will wear hi-vis clothing, please heed their instructions and keep a safe distance from the site of the works.
TIMESCALE
The duration of the works - 3 months starting 20 January 2025 and completed by 30 March 2025.
