Find out more about the Loughborough Applied Psychology Service (LAPS) practitioners below.
We currently have over 20 LAPS practitioners working across all performance programmes at the University. The programme is led by Dr Karl Steptoe, Sport and Performance Psychology Lead at Loughborough University.
Meghan is a REBT-based practitioner working with the Loughborough University Badminton performance programme. Her areas of interest include emotional regulation, resilience and perfectionism.
Olivia works with Lightning Wheelchair Basketball. She adopts a collaborative, compassionate approach that challenges you to become the kind of athlete, and person, you want to be.
Alex is an ACT-based practitioner working within the Loughborough Men’s Rugby Performance Programme. Her previous research specialises in performance under pressure and relationships in sport.
Robert is an ACT-based practitioner currently working with Loughborough Lightning football. His areas of interest include concentration, performance anxiety and perfectionism
Alex utilises an REBT-based approach and currently works with the Loughborough Performance Triathlon Centre. His previous research has specialised in exercise motivation.
Tsvetelina has worked across a wide variety of sports, specialising in performance under pressure. With a goal-focused approach, she aims to help athletes enjoy a long and fulfilling career.
Sam is an REBT-based practitioner working with Loughborough University Performance Tennis. Areas of particular interest include performance anxiety, fear of failure and self-confidence.
Imogen currently works with Lightning Netball. She believes supporting both the person and the performer is key and aims to deliver enjoyable evidence-based sessions for all athletes.
Hetty is an ACT-based practitioner currently working with Loughborough Athletics. Her areas of interest include, athlete well-being, injury and performance anxiety.
Kate currently works with Men’s Performance Football. Her PhD research focuses on athlete well-being and performance enhancement. She takes an athlete centered approach to practice.
Sam works for Stoke City Academy and has experience across a variety of sports in numerous roles. Sam’s ACT-based philosophy includes work with values, goal setting, and performance anxiety.
