Grace Francis

Grace has a background in geography and completed both her undergraduate degree (BSc) and masters (MA: Climate Change, Politics and Policy) at Loughborough University. Alongside her studies, Grace was involved in the student-led mental health association ‘Heads Up’, as well as being the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) officer for geography, the postgraduate representative on the School of Social Science and Humanities EDI committee, sustainability ambassador and course representative. Grace received awards for her work in these roles at both the Loughborough Academic Awards and the Welfare and Diversity Awards. Grace has also completed training in mental health first aid, understanding autism, counselling skills, and cancer support and care. 

Grace’s PhD explores the accessibility of transport for disabled people and her scholarship is sponsored by Motability. Her PhD explores the impact of heat on rail transport accessibility for neurodivergent individuals.
