Soham Sahoo is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics based at Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University.

He is also associated with the Centre for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn, Global Action for Policy (GAP) Initiative at Northeastern University, and J-PAL as an Invited Researcher.

He received a PhD in Quantitative Economics from the Economics and Planning Unit of Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, and has held academic positions at various institutions including London School of Economics, University of Goettingen, and University of Warwick.

Soham’s research interests are in development economics, focusing on education, gender, labour, and political economy. His work involves applying experimental and quasi-experimental econometric methods to address policy-relevant issues. His research has been supported by external funders such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) of UKRI and J-PAL based at MIT. His papers have been published in reputed journals including the Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Comparative Economics, Demography, Social Science and Medicine, and World Development.
