Dr Pınar Nuhoğlu Kibar is an Assistant Professor and Vice Chair in the Computer Education and Instructional Technology Department at Hacettepe University. Her work encompasses the design, implementation, and evaluation of visualisation strategies tailored to different stages of the teaching-learning process. Her research bridges instructional design and graphic design, emphasising innovative approaches to learning, visual literacy, and visual design. Through workshops with secondary school students, teachers, and public health and business professionals, she has sought to enhance visualization skills and foster a deeper understanding of its transformative potential.

During her Ph.D., she developed the Infographic Design Model and Rubric to promote infographic design as a learning strategy. As a Visiting Researcher at Trinity College Dublin, CRITE, she integrated this model into the BRIDGE21 team-based learning framework, advancing collaborative approaches to infographic design.

She coordinated the VistoLearn project (2020–2024), funded by the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA), which focused on visual interpretation. Through experimental methods, including the development of a visual interpretation test and eye-tracking analysis, she examined the impact of instructional processes on visual interpretation skills. As Guest Editor of the 2024 Journal of Visual Literacy special issue on infographics, Dr. Kibar highlighted the importance of effective visualisation for Gen Alpha and explored innovative strategies for shaping future learning and teaching processes.

She is currently exploring the role of generative AI as a design collaborator in the learning process, focusing on its impact on learners' experiences and infographic design performance. Her recent work also examines the effective design of learning dashboards as an interactive type of infographic, emphasizing the pivotal role of data visualization.

During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Kibar is collaborating with Dr Sara C. Klohn Reader from the School of Design and Creative Arts.
