Dr Luisa Fernanda Chaparro Sierra

Dr Chaparro Sierra received a B.Sc. in physics in 2009, an M.Sc. in Physics in 2014, and a Ph.D. degree in high energy physics from Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia in 2018. From 2012 to 2018, she was an associated member at CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) in the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoide) Experiment. In 2019, she was a visitor scientific at FNAL (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory). From 2020 to 2021, she was a Postdoc Fellow in the Mathematics Department at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
Since the end of 2021, she has been a Research Professor with the Science Department, School of Engineering and Sciences, Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico. Her main research topics include computational modelling and phenomenology analysis of High Energy Physics, Big-Data Applications, and Smart Mobility. Dr. Chaparro is a member of the OWSD (Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World)-UNESCO, Chapter Colombia. She is a member of the national system of researchers in Mexico (Candidate) and Colombia (Junior).
During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Chaparro Sierra is collaborating with Dr Martin Sykora from the Loughborough Business School.
