Profile
Professor Gorse has undertaken research and consultancy in the field of building performance, regulation, standards and safety for over 30 years. He has led multi-million pound research projects for the Department for Energy and Climate Change, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and contributed to major research projects for the National Physics Laboratory, Office for Products, Safety and Standards and other public and private sector clients, with a particular emphasis on performance and conformance of whole buildings, products and services.
Several of his high-profile research projects have attracted national TV and radio coverage, including: sustainability and thermal performance of buildings, reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete buildings (RAAC); standards and practices in the building repair, maintenance and refurbishment sector, and smart asset management.
His topics of interest also include: building systems, quality, safety and risk; net zero, energy efficiency, thermal performance, structural integrity and building life expectancy.
