Global Impact Scholarships
Gifts to Global Impact Scholarships support postgraduate students from low-income countries. They are new for 2024-25.
The Global Impact Scholarships have been set up to support postgraduate students who come from low-income countries to offer brilliant opportunities to talented and deserving individuals who may otherwise not be able to engage in further study.
Loughborough is committed to giving students from all backgrounds the opportunity to study with us and to achieve academic excellence.
Addressing global inequality isn’t just a moral obligation; it’s about ensuring that every person, regardless of where they are born, has a fair chance to thrive and contribute.
A gift to Global Impact Scholarships can provide a transformative opportunity to students from around the world and help them to realise their full potential.
Who will receive Global Impact Scholarships?
The Global Impact Scholarships will offer students from around the world the chance to access postgraduate study.
Eligible students will complete an application process and through it they will showcase their commitment to making a difference in their home country.
By utilising what they learn through their postgraduate education, their passion for supporting their communities will shine through and the education provided to them at Loughborough will help our scholars to achieve their goals and support their home country on completion of study and return home.
Students selected for the scholarships will have a first class undergraduate degree. They will be from low-income countries, as defined by the World Bank.
Your donation
The University is supporting Global Impact Scholarships but can support even more students with the support of generous donations.
Scholarship donations will cover 50-100% of tuition fees. A one-year postgraduate master’s degree costs between £26,000 and £36,000.
In 2024, we had over 700 applications for Global Impact Scholarships. We were able to award 20 of these; some of which are thanks to the incredible support of alumni and friends. There are still hundreds of students who missed out on the opportunity to study with us this year, so we aim to continue increasing the number of scholarships we can offer.
