Profile
I am a dedicated researcher and Doctoral Researcher at Loughborough University, with a focus on Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) data monitoring and management.
My journey in civil engineering began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, which I started in 2013 and completed in 2017. I then pursued a Master’s in Structural Engineering, specializing in advanced concrete technology, from 2017 to 2020. My master’s research centred on enhancing concrete performance through innovative use of pozzolans and nanomaterials, blending theoretical insights with practical solutions.
Working in the area of concrete technology and sustainable materials, I am driven to tackle the critical challenges facing civil engineering, particularly with cementitious composites. Throughout my research experience, I have conducted extensive lab work aimed at improving concrete durability and reducing environmental impact, developing mix designs that meet the demands of modern, sustainable infrastructure.
In my PhD, I am specifically working on developing a comprehensive data monitoring and management strategy for RAAC structures. This project aims to proactively detect RAAC defects, optimize maintenance strategies, and extend structural lifespan while minimizing the carbon footprint. My research involves real-time data collection, predictive maintenance modelling, and collaboration with Heathrow Airport Limited, where I am working to integrate these findings into real-world applications.
By bridging academic research with practical implementation, I aim to contribute meaningfully to both industry and academia, promoting resilience, sustainability, and innovation in civil engineering.
