Research and expertise

I am a Research Associate in Spatial Data Science at Loughborough University, specializing in geospatial information systems (GIS), spatial data science, and urban analytics. My research focuses on leveraging geospatial big data to understand human mobility patterns and urban dynamics

I work with geo-based models, contributed geospatial information, and multivariate analysis techniques to develop intelligent spatial systems that support urban planning, environmental monitoring, and offshore industries. My goal is to provide urban and environmental specialists with tools that enhance decision-making and sustainable development.

At Loughborough University, I am part of the Healthy & Innovative Loughborough initiative, applying geospatial methodologies to address societal and environmental challenges. My work is driven by a passion for using spatial data science to create smarter, more sustainable urban environments.

Profile

I am a geospatial data scientist with expertise in GIS, spatial modeling, and geospatial analytics. With a PhD in GIS from the University of Tehran, I have worked in academia and industry, contributing to projects in urban development, offshore surveys, and environmental monitoring

Throughout my career, I have developed GIS-based solutions for complex spatial challenges, including seabed mapping, and urban mobility analysis. My experience spans programming, spatial data management, and development of decision-support systems for infrastructure planning.

I am also passionate about teaching and mentorship, having taught courses on spatial databases and GIS analysis. My commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration has allowed me to work with experts from various fields, driving innovation in geospatial problem-solving.

Now based in the UK, I am excited to contribute to the country’s dynamic geospatial sector. As a Research Associate at Loughborough University, I aim to advance spatial data intelligence while engaging with the UK’s geospatial research community.
