Sam Kayaga retires
Sam Kayaga, Reader in Sustainable Systems for Water Security at WEDC has retired. We celebrate his long and distinguished career and wish him well for the future.
As a water and sanitation engineer, Sam has been working for WEDC since 2002. His main area of academic interest was sustainable urban water services with specific emphasis on institutional and organisational development at national, sector, corporate and community levels.
Prior to joining WEDC, Sam worked for the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) of Uganda for a period of 18 years, as a water engineer and manager in various towns of Uganda, and later as a principal and chief engineer.
Although now retired, Sam will remain active in the WASH sector “to give something back”. He is now a volunteer for Christian Engineers in Development, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that harnesses engineering expertise to help local communities to help themselves in a sustainable way throughout the developing world.
