An Introduction to Recording Music (short course)
Book nowLooking to get that first EP recorded? Not sure what software to use or where to put the mic? This is the course for you!
Course dates: 20 February - 20 March, 6-8pm each week
*** For Loughborough University students and staff only ***
This hands-on five-week course will introduce you to the basics of recording music. You'll start by learning how to prepare your songs for recording, followed by tips on recording acoustic instruments, vocals, electric guitar and bass. You'll then cover how to use recording software to add percussion, strings, synths etc. Finally, you'll learn about mixing and mastering your music for online streaming or CD release.
The course is open to anyone interested in making a start in recording music. You'll have a chance to try out equipment and software in the sessions, and do not need your own. If you'd like to develop the skills learned outside the class, advice will be given on what equipment or software might work best for you, and you'll be able to make use of the Martin Hall Music Rooms (MusicVIP membership required).
