Loughborough University Staff

Find out how you can get involved in the arts and get creative outside of your work.

We provide opportunities for University staff to get creative outside of your work. These include the University Choir, Book Club, music tuition and evening classes. There are also lunchtime exhibitions and one-off workshops and events. Read on to find out more.

Events

Throughout the year we run lots of one-off events, many of which take place during the day. Events include workshops, artist talks, National Theatre Live screenings and live performances.

Lunchtime exhibitions

We host regular, free lunchtime exhibitions in Martin Hall Gallery (Shirley Pearce Square). This space is available to any staff member who wants to exhibit their work. Email us for booking information (luarts@lboro.ac.uk).

Find out more about all our forthcoming events and exhibitions on our 'What's on' page.

Music tuition

Through us, you can book one-to-one music tuition in singing or a range of instruments to take place on campus. Tuition is for any ability level including beginners.

Music rooms

We have music practice rooms in Martin Hall that staff and students can use. There’s a piano in each one and they’re open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week. Sign up to Music VIP (for free) to get access added to your campus card.

Creative evening classes

We run evening classes in creative writing, pottery and painting and drawing. Our classes run in the autumn and spring terms in 10-week blocks. Sign up to our mailing list for priority booking.

Book Club

Join our Book Club for staff, students and alumni; new members are welcome at any time. We meet online every six weeks to discuss a book chosen by members. These are usually, but not always, works of fiction. Visit the What's On page for details of upcoming meetings.

University Choir

If you enjoy singing, then why not join our Choir? It's open to staff, students and members of the public and they rehearse every Monday (term time only). The Choir put on two concerts a year covering a mix of classical and contemporary music.

Sculpture trail

We look after the University’s art collection which includes more than 30 sculptures across campus. Get to know your way around by following our interactive sculpture map. lboro.ac.uk/arts/arts-collection.

Radar

Our contemporary art programme invites artists to produce new work in response to, and alongside, research taking place at Loughborough University. We also programme events which bring together artistic and academic work. If you're a researcher, then get in touch to find out more.
