In December, alumni gathered for a dinner in Lagos, Nigeria. This event was hosted by ambassador Hakeem Otiti and allowed attendees to reconnect with old friends and build new connections. Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive, with alumni expressing interest in having more in-person events, not only in Lagos but also in other cities.
The following day, the monthly Nigeria Alumni Spotlight session took place online. This was a virtual event which focused on alumni experiences and insights. It was well-received by attendees, who actively engaged in the discussions. The regular events are proving popular with alumni in the country!
Lastly, alumni in Beijing gathered for an end-of-year celebration, supported by the University’s alumni team. The event was a formal dinner and included an introduction to alumni via a PowerPoint presentation and an interactive quiz where participants had the chance to win university-themed gifts such as scarves and badges. After dinner, alumni enjoyed a relaxed networking session. More than 40 alumni attended. Alumni said they felt reconnected with the University and expressed a keen interest in attending future alumni meetings.
