Charity founded by alumnus supports members of the Loughborough community affected by grief

After sadly losing his mum within his first few weeks of university, Dave Jacob-Lloyd founded a grief charity with the aim of helping bereaved students.

It’s Time was founded in 2021 by the Loughborough alumnus to support young adults who have experienced parental loss. Alumni David Fagan and Hannah Raymond also had experiences with bereavement during their time at the University and work within the charity to assist in supporting students with similar experiences.

The charity offers group therapy, virtual peer-to-peer support groups, content on grief and its impact on the lives of those affected, and triages to other support services. In person walking groups also take place monthly in London, however the group are looking to expand.

Dave studied at Loughborough between 2011 and 2015 and wants to encourage students to discuss their experiences of grief at university to support the wider community.
