He studied at the University from 1952 to 1957, an experience that is discussed in one of the chapters of the book.

Beginning his life in India, Edgar describes having worked in a variety of different roles including being an entrepreneur, hotelier, butler, educator among many others. Relocation to the United States in 1986 and subsequent retirement in 2007 saw Edgar and his wife take up residence in California.
