Filming your #LboroJourney video
Film and submit your video entry by 28 March.
If you regularly share video content on social media channels, then you’ll likely know what format to go for! If this is all new to you, we have a few guidance notes to help.
- Choose your location: a room with soft furnishings helps to reduce echo in a room. It’s also a good idea to close windows and doors.
- Lighting: place the window behind the camera but avoid any direct sunlight in your face. Check your background for any unwanted clutter.
- Keep it steady: rest your device or steady your hand by holding your phone or tablet against a wall. Also, try to keep the camera on your device level with your eyes and position yourself within the frame of the image.
- Horizontal or vertical? That will depend on what platform you are sharing to. If you are publishing to social media, check the platform’s format. If you are uploading a video via our form and not publishing online yourself, please film horizontally.
- Do a quick sound and image test before you film your final video, then all that’s left is to smile and hit record! We recommend that videos should be no longer than a minute or two. Videos posted directly to social media may be shorter.
- What to include: As well as doing a piece to camera, we'd love to see some photographs or videos from your time at Loughborough. If you have some that you can include and then speak over the top, that would be great!
